MyMortgage - Your Mortgage Online

There is a lot to be said for being able to manage your mortgage from the comfort of your own home. If you are looking to get a mortgage on your home or if you have a mortgage it is certainly a golden age when you can log onto your computer and check out your mortgage on the internet. I know that before I had the Internet I would always have to call into the bank to see where I was with my mortgage or to make my payments if I didn't want to write a check and pay them, now I simply log into the computer and I look at mymortgage right there on the bank's website. So why would someone want to find a mortgage online or check into their existing home loan on the internet?

First I should let you know that my wife is a mortgage loan officer. She is not a broker, she works for a bank. She hates the online mortgage loan business but I have to tell you that I disagree in a way. While it is true that many people would be better serviced to go to a bank for their mortgage, and I certainly have mymortgage through a bank, there are a lot of reasons why you would want to try to get a great mortgage on the Internet. They do service people who have less than perfect credit and you can often find out quickly if you qualify without ever leaving the house. Just make sure that they don't "shop" your loan or you will end up with a lot of hits on your credit report. On the other hand if you already have a mortgage you can log into your bank's website to check on payments and your balance. That makes it nice when you can't seem to get it off your mind. So try the Internet for your mortgage, it might be just what you needed.
